Don’t Hate Math Anymore

Hi!

We are Yun and Chris, two students of biophysics in France, also known as Akahad on Metacafe. I, Chris, discovered the incredible Metacafe program and thought we could try to show fascinating physics tricks, like the sugar making light one, which would interest people (I was totally wrong).

When Yun saw the first math videos, she remembered a little multiplication trick. She learned it during her school years in China from some anonymous guy who wanted to bring kids to like math.

Learning to play guitar

I am 23 years old, and I was born in Goiânia, Go-where I still reside today. I have some relatives who are musicians and I learned about music with them. I began to be interested in music when I was seven years old when I learned to play the flute. When I was 10 years old I started to play string instruments. I consider myself to be a perpetual apprentice of music.

I named my video ” learning to play guitar ” because I am a self-taught person and I learned more from hearing than seeing. I posted the sequence of chords in this and in the other video (part 2), which will be posted on Metacafe soon.

Password Cracking Revealed

I’ve known the Metacafe website for a long time. When I read a news report about the new Producer Rewards program, I decided it was time for me to produce and submit some videos of my own.

After an unsuccessful video of my dog running around the house, I decided to make a video about a topic I am very familiar with – computer networks security. I created a video about password cracking and network sniffing and submitted it to Metacafe at midnight.

Coin in Plate with Water

I have been a Metacafe video watcher for a little more than a year. Every day, there are many new cool videos that makes you laugh, think, etc.

After a while, Metacafe decided to pay people for their videos if they are popular enough. At first, I started to upload some of mine because I was curious to find out how the system works. It was a disaster; people didn’t really like what I was offering.

Full PC Optimization in a Minute!

Hello everyone,

For more than ten years I have been surfing the Internet for at least 5 hours a day, so I have collected a lot of tips about computers and the Internet. I think these tips and tricks make my work life easier. My first idea for my videos is about showing cool tips so that people can get benefit from them.

The other thing is that everyday many ideas occur to me. I think I may know what people are interested in. So I would like to convert all of my ideas into videos and share it with people around the world. Fortunately, I have Metacafe as my gateway for making this plan come true.

Right now I am interested in “How to release stress at work. I’ve got many techniques about stress release, for example: meditation, massage, exercise, etc.

Lucky Numbers

In 2004, I saw an advertisement for a company that offered entertainment through a downloadable application, and from the first time I used it I was pleased.

After several hours of work (in programming), it was a good idea to turn on Metacafe and laugh by watching some funny videos that free my mind and help me get back into work. I especially liked the fact that I could customize which videos I would get by choosing the categories that interested me.

One day I saw the advertisement for Producer Rewards, and because I was almost broke with one loan pending and with Christmas Eve near I thought, “Lets give a try…   I was in my office and I had no camera, so I recorded three videos to see if I was lucky and I uploaded them.

Within one week I had made U.S. $1,200.  In those days everyone said that was SCAM, but I knew this company from long ago, and I had faith that they were going to help me economically.

President Lincoln Standing On His Own Head

My name is Jonathan Smith, I am 29, married, and a small business owner. One afternoon while “working hard” in my home office, I came across a video on Metacafe. I have always been particularly fond of funny videos of people doing ridiculous things, security cams of dumb criminals and other crazy silliness. I tend to prefer the real, candid and well thought up staged original material more than watching TV show episodes and movie clips.

Changes in the Ranking System

Filed under: Metacafe News, Producer Rewards — The Metacafe Team @ 3:27 pm

Hi everyone,

I’d like to begin by thanking all of you for your patience regarding the recent changes we made to the ranking system. Thanks to your input over these past few days, we have done some research and discovered unexpected results from the new ranking system. We therefore decided to go back to the previous ranking system until these problems are fixed – effective immediately. This should be reflected in your videos’ ranks over the next few hours.

Metacafe will always continue to improve its ranking mechanism so that it would benefit the entire community – producers and video consumers alike. With your feedback – be it positive or negative – you are helping us create a better product, and so I thank you for all of your patience, understanding, and most of all help in this issue as well as others.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused all of you, and I would like to stress how important it is that we receive this feedback from you. Any time you see something wrong – let us know. Even if it is a small thing – like updating the FAQ page (thanks Sigung!) We are counting on all of you to keep us aware of any problems that may come up in the future, so that we can resolve them as quickly as possible.

I hope that all of you continue to guide the program forward to be as successful as it can be – you are our ambassadors. We want you to make as many videos as you can and make as much money as you possibly can.

New Metacafe Features And Producer Rewards Update

Filed under: Metacafe News, Producer Rewards — The Metacafe Team @ 4:41 pm

Hi guys!

We’ve made a couple cool changes this week on Metacafe. First of all, we are now accepting 13+ items to Producer Rewards. Basically we have raised the bar from G or PG ratings to PG-13, so you can be a little more creative. Be careful, though, we are still not accepting anything near 18+. The videos still need to be clean fun, but they can be a bit more daring than before.

We have added a brand new feature that may affect many of you. On each video page, under the DiggIt logo, you can now find the Facebook logo that will allow you to add your video to your Facebook page. So go ahead and embed your videos on your Facebook pages. Better yet – tell your friends to do the same!

Finally – and this is one of my favorites – we have improved the Full Screen mode feature. Now when you click the Full Screen button, instead of the full screen opening up in a new window, it opens up in the same window. You don’t have to wait for a new page to load up, just enjoy your full screen video.

I hope you enjoy these new changes and improvements that we have made on Metacafe. Stay tuned for more updates and new features.

MassageNerd’s Massage Techniques

Filed under: Guest Posts — Metacafe Submitter @ 5:06 pm

By: Ryan Hoyme

I am very honored to have received recognition for my videos. I have been in the massage field for over 8 years, and have been actively teaching massage therapy for the past 6 years. I started making massage videos as way to provide better instruction for my fellow massage therapists.

Instead of reading about a massage technique in a textbook and implementing the massage technique incorrectly, video provides a student of massage with a means to see, to hear, and to understand massage techniques with greater clarity.

I wanted to let the whole world know about my massage techniques, and I soon discovered that Metacafe was the ideal way for me to communicate that information. I love the strong sense of community that Metacafe’s users have, and the feedback that Metacafe’s users have provided me. My favorite part about Metacafe is being a part of the Metacafe community.
